    Technical Support Manager

    Epic Games, the award-winning developer known for the Unreal series of games, Gears of War, and the Unreal Engine, is searching for an experienced Technical Support Manager. This person will manage the relationship between Epic and our technology customers through the following activities:
    • Manage technical forums and support websites (Unreal Developer Network, and UDK)
    • Improve communication with our customers by supporting them, resolving their concerns, and keeping them informed
    • Manage the Unreal Engine documentation; including identifying needs for docs, examples, videos, etc. on UDN and managing people who are writing them
    • Manage the localization of UDN Documentation
    • Work with the development team, and Epic's PR and Marketing team to define community plans
    • Maintain critical analyses of competitive developer technologies, tools, community management, and support
    • Work closely with internal product development teams to comprehend and influence upcoming platform technologies, features and tools
    • Coordinating with our pr/marketing team on trade show presence, to include managing technical sessions at GDC and other conferences
    • Own the UDK/UDN community plan from social media strategy to community news to licensee support
    • Integrate social media into Epic's online community life-cycle, from development to post release support with blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and RSS
    Required Skills:
    • A passion for game engine technology, video games and for Epic's games/tech in particular
    • Experience managing large technical communities
    • Experience creating, moderating, or managing web sites including technology forums
    • Excellent communication skills and writing skills
    • Experience balancing workload by knowing when to work independently, delegate to internal resources, and external contractors
    Preference to applicants with:
    • Experience with leadership roles in other tech support environments
    • Experience with Unreal Engine technology
    • Experience establishing and nurturing partnerships in the video game engine marketplace
