Question about the later UDK builds?

Hey guys, this is probably really simple, but can anyone tell me if the later versions of the UDK support .dds file formats? I'm finding that .tga munches a bit of space (3mb for a 1024 image). It's not a life-changing problem, it's just a convenience thing, as my UDK version is quite old (november build I think), and as my internet is capped at the moment, I can't get the newer versions to check myself.

    Thanks.

A quick test indicates that it doesn't support DDS. I think one of the reasons is compression -- DDS already do hardware compression and since UDK handles that by itself there is no need to use DDS.

If size is a problem, use PNG

Ah, didn't think of that. Thanks for the info.

      Edit

Oh that's why I didn't think of it, the november build of UDK doesn't support the png file format. Guess I really do need to upgrade when my net clocks over.

      Thanks again.
