    ill try find the propper 6 wheeler and upload that when i get chance. thats actualy the first car i ever got working, it likes being on its rear wheels doesnt it lol.

    dont know what you could do for the susspension, because the bones arnt linked main - susspension - wheel, im guessing its totaly fake.
    you will have to try and find the code resposible and jigger it about, if its not native that is.

    concerning my car

    Got it working, i guess now i need to write a Maya v2010 tutorial for vehicle in UDK.

    But you know i am not happy since the way UDK does suspension isnt what i have in mind,

    Problem persist

    Good news is i found out how to set proper axis on Maya without doing any rotation to the mesh; so you will have X forward,Z up just like the scorpion when you import.

    What's funny is, when i take the script i did and extending from UDKVehicle, and attach the scorpion to it
    instead of my car, the scorpion is able to work fine !

    Is it because i didnt attacht the animation node in the animationTree (check screenshot), scorpion have one but i dont.
    Something in the skeletalmesh editor (animset) which i must set/create which i missed ?

    that site has lots of fairly decent free models, and some rubbish ones.
    they usualy need quite a bit of messing with to get them ready for udk though.
    good luck, hope you fix your car.

    Ok thanks sir, will add the susp and tires bones to the parent per poly category now and will let you know the result by tomorrow.

    1. OK fine give without bones, will bone with same name and skin.... at least i will have assurance to work on a already working vehicle ! (specially script part will already be fine). U send in private ?

    First question :

    In Maya, what will be proper coordinate ? (i am using UDK, got also UT3 but more UDK)

    I saw in UDN creating Svehicle reference that Z positive, Y UP, X for the side
    But on UDKC :
    The Roof of the vehicle is facing the Z Axis
    The Doors of the car are in the Y Axis
    The Engine and Trunk are facing the X Axis

    Please confirm me the proper axis in maya since i am using it, or please share the FBX mesh (in private) so that i can try to make your vehicle work using maya in UDK.

    hello
    heres a 6 wheeled vehicle to get you started making your own
    this is a very ruff model because im just testing ideas atm while im familiarising myself with the whole skeleton/physics thing
    the file names = 'UTGame' for udk march, 'UDKGame' for udk april.
    im using the march release.

    put the files in these folders:

    VH_BubbleCar.upk - UTGame/Content/Vehicles

    UTVehicle_BubbleCar.uc - Development\Src\UTGame\Classes
    UTVehicleBubbleCarWheel.uc - Development\Src\UTGame\Classes

    UTVehicleFactory_BubbleCar - Development\Src\UTGameContent\Classes
    UTVehicle_BubbleCar_Content - Development\Src\UTGameContent\Classes

    there are no textures/materials cos im rubbish at that.
    the car model was downloaded from a random free model site.



    *you might want to move the 'GunViewSocket' up a bit, i had it low down for testing, also the other ones will need tweaking*
    udk content browser, double click the mesh
    in the window that opens, menu > mesh > socket manager

    to make your own:

    UDK:
    in the udk content browser make a copy of the mesh and assets into a new package and rename ie. VH_YourCar
    then import your new model overwriting the old one (this way you dont have to make all the sockets again)
    make copies of all the script files, not forgetting to reneame the class to the same as the file name
    ei. file = UTVehicle_YourCar.uc
    class = UTVehicle_YourCar

    3ds Max:
    open the 3ds file
    delete the car model and import your own (seperate body, wheels and suspension)
    add skin modifiers to all the bits
    add bones:
    body - Main_Root
    wheels - F_R_Tire, M_R_Tire, R_R_Tire...
    suspension - F_L_Axle....
    add uvwmaping to it all
    export actorx
    see geodavs tutorials for more info on that
