    Custom Weapon

    Hello, I would like to set up a custom weapon to be able to scan these minerals. My question is basically how do I set up interactions in the UDK? Like, the player character points the gun at the item and presses T or something and the action results in the gun scanning the object. Is this a kismet thing or more of a Unreal Scripting thing or neither? I have included an image without the scanner as I am modeling it today and will have it textured and imported later this week. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
