    configuration settings and file structures

I've created a simple map using the UDK and want to remove the gun from the default player. Next replace the default player with a custom character.

I'm currently familiarizing myself with the Skeletal mesh pipeline (UDK vid from Jeremy Ernest) –

I also want to enable or at least toggle the camera from 1st person to 3rd person. Same with HUD - toggle on / off.

When you create a map through the editor where are the files it executes – I wish to hack at them!

Is there a tutorial somewhere I can learn about the configuration settings and file structures?

    Cheers!

You can do that by using unreal-script, but you need to learn how to use it first: http://udk.com/documentation

      thanks for the link.

i've been reading through the documentation. there's a lot of it.

      i found some basics...

also found links to some tutorials here:
      http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/UDKCommunityLinks.html

anyway can someone give me basic steps to modify the UTEngine.ini file so I can simply remove the weapon from the default character that is loaded when you run a custom map through the UDK editor?

A nice site I recently found is this one: http://forecourse.com/unreal-tutorials/
Quite useful since the guy is not just talking about generic theories but actually uses his own game as an example.

Yes, definately the most usefull unrealscript source I found so far.
I only wish those videos weren't that long. After an hour of watching I kind'a feel like I'm back to university and I'm forced to watch a seminar or something.
