    How can I use a hoverboard in UDK?

    To every one in this forum

    How do you do?

    When I play VCTF-sandstrom.udk and VCTF-necropolis.udk, I can ride on a hoverboard by pressing 'Q'.

    I am using UDK to make a small game now.
    However, I can not use hoverboard in my game.

    Hoverboard is not shown when I press 'Q'.

    How can I use a hoverboard in UDK?

    If your game mode is derived from UTGame, there is a boolean value in default properties you need to flag to true. Should be easy to find.

      As you said, I opened WorldInfo property window by selecting Menu View > World Properties.

      And then, I opened WorldInfo category > Game Types Supported on this map, and I created UTGame as you said.

      I also selected UTMapInfo by clicking blue triangle on MyMapInfo category.


      You said that I can easilu find where I can set for hoverboard.
      However, I can not find where I can set to use hoverboard.

      would you please tell me where I can find to set for hoverboard?

        i think he is refering to the file UTGame.uc
        your level has to start with the right prefix
        DM-YourLevel..
        VCTF-YourLevel...
        do a tutorial about game types

          My game type is not DeathMatch nor Vehicle Capture the flag.
          It is just a simple game.

          I think that I should make an unreal script to use hovercraft.

            thats why the hoverboard isnt available!

            udk uses game types to specify the type of game INCLUDING things like wether or not a hoverboard is used.
            sorry i spent 10 mins looking for a tutorial and couldnt find one for you.
            there are some somewhere because i have done 1

            help adk23x out somebody please
            iv only been using udk for a few weeks, im no expert

            try renaming your level to start with 'VCTF' and you will see for yourself

              I am in the same boat. I tried messing with the code but I was never able to summon a hoverboard but I suck at coding.
              I am really interested in creating a racing game so VCTF would be bad.
              I am using a Deathmatch game type. Created using Geodav's tutorial on UDK basic setup. I am able to place vehicle factories custom and stock in my level.
              I think I may just create a custom hoverboard to use in my game. Just set it up like a regular vehicle.

                look fot the line in VCTFGame.uc that mentions the hoverboard
                copy that line to your own game type

                    no its in the folder you installed udk

                    UDK/UDK-2010-03/Development/UTGame/Classes

                    open them with bloc-notes (comes with windows) or another script editor of your choice

                    i have only been using udk for a few weeks so im no expert, i just try and pass on what i have managed to work out for myself.
                    really EPIC should be doing this!, they know everything but are unwilling to let us know for some reason.

                      I'm doing a racing game as well. It's a hoverboard racing game however I need the player and bots to spawn on the hoverboard at the beginning of the level. Any ideas?
