    Racing mechanics in Unreal

    Hi Folks,

    I'd like to develop a small racing framework for UT. I've had a look at Snowreal and really like what the team have achieved.

    I guess what I'd like opinions on is what people feel is the best way to deal with multiplayer online race modes with check points, scoreboards, position /placing and a finish line. I'm not too fussed about laps, yet.

    I've tried setting up much of the above with kismet but with no joy, so I'm looking into scripting replication, but I don't have much knowledge on it.

    Any opinions?

    I would start modding a TDM and points are the same as kills. Learn to augment the hud for times.

    As for "Global Leaderboards" you'll need some TCP linkage to my knowledge.
