    Rock Textures

Hello does anybody have a tutorial on rock textures. I have tried, tried, tried and tried again to get something that looks as good as what comes with the UDK. But I can't seem to get a really awesome rock texture.

Im having problems with the diffuse map. Ive tried downloading some textures and making them tillable etc, but I have had no such luck.

How Can I make rock materials and textures that are as good as what the UDK comes with?

I would suggest to photograph your textures in the real world, then edit them in photoshop, crazybump and whatnot. With a bit of practice, you can make some awesome textures in a very short time. I format most (if not all) of my textures from purpose-taken photographs nowadays.

You should try opening up Unreal's materials and swapping their textures with yours just to get started. Once you get more confident, you can try this:

Just open up the materials already made in the udk and just change the rock textures and normals on there with your 1s

Hey, that seamless texture tutorial is awesome. It highlights some things that I intuitively knew should be possible, but never really figured out how to make happen
