I'm trying to develop an idea for a location for a survival horror game. For example, Abandoned towns, hospitals, jails, etc..I just need more ideas so I can kind of narrow down a perfect location for a game.

The best place to start is gathering some research. Games like Silent Hill and Resident Evil, films like Saw and the internet will give you plenty of great ideas.
A couple of abandoned places / urban decay sites I use:

Hit up Google and save every interesting photo you find into an Inspiration folder, you'll end up finding while looking at them your ideas will start to grow quickly.

Try going the unconventional route. Find places that you'd consider un-scary, and warp and twist them 'til they become scary...
Everyone's been through the stereotypical haunted Asylum, but it's alot more tense to be in a friendly, familiar environment that's been changed to something sinister...

I think one of the scariest places on Earth is Pripyat. I know it's been done in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. but it's an awesome location due to the fact that it's so large, yet so abandoned. Any kind of run down, dark and gritty, location is a good place for scary stuff to happen. Also, run down derilect space ships are good. Basically it's all in the ambient sounds and lighting. Music helps too.

I know of quite a few scary places in some parts of London, like the dungeons, or have you ever thought how it would feel being locked inside the Madam Tussauds museum at night?
Another good place is called Chiselhurst caves, situated in Kent, its open to the public, and has some very colourful history about it. I tell you how scary it is, several years ago a group of of duty police officers went down there for a night.......lets just say they didnt stay for the duration, they came out of there a bit sharpish.......
