UDK crashes whenever I try to open "Cool Ambient sounds" package in content browser

Hi there I seem to have a problem whenever I try to open the UDK Cool Ambient Sounds package in the content browser. Every other package works (I only have those that come by default with the installation). Also whenever I try to open "All assets" in the content browser it crashes too...

The strange thing is that it worked a week ago, I tried reinstalling the application and I even have got the new version now (July 2012). No succes, I have no idea why it won't work... I already searched google but I can't seem to find anyone with the same problem.

Any suggestion / solution (even better) would be usefull.

    Thank you for reading.

I reckon this is due to having low specs, it cannot load a big package it seems like there is a "thread exception" in this log, can you list your pc specs ? are you able to reproduce this with March 2012 ?

if it's due to my lack of ram, could you tell me were these assets are located so I could delete them manually... I don't need them anyway for what I was doing...

I will try reproducing it with march 2012 later, I'm searching off the internet first a little bit more
      Ty for the fast response

Are they stock assets the ones that come with UDK ? if they are, deleting would not be a good thing IMO, so you were able to look for Cool Ambient Sounds and use the All Assets feature without a crash 2-4 days ago ? have you updated any drivers since then ?

EDIT: are you running any flash application at the same time i.e. Youtube, Vimeo, something similar, or online shockwave games ?

          #5
Yes I'm using the assets that come standard with UDK and I was able to use these in my levels.
And no, no drivers updated, modified, deleted ect...

And I'm not running any flash applications while trying to acces these assets.

PS I searched around a little bit in my contentbrowser and I can load any asset available exept sounds and cue's for some reason...
I'll install UDK march 2012 now

I know, i tried to load this package earlier on, and a week ago i also had a map that i couldnt load, i think that the main problem is due to the low spec of your computer, like me, as my computer isnt the best for CPU, meaning that it is likely to crash if you have not got a very good computer. From the Specs that you have shown, Its not too bad but i think that it could be a problem, Im going to be buying a new graphics card and a CPU, to make it work, and that should solve the problem!

Have you installed your sound card's driver ? check device manager to see if it is working properly,

sound card drivers still working properly (checked that before making this thread)

atm installing udk march 2012 after a complete uninstallation (including user made files) of udk July 2012... if this doesn't work well let's just say I'll get a new computer eventually...

Ty for the fast responses guys (and for the sugestions)

Just downloaded latest version udk still no succes, BUT in the content browser I changed the view to list view and now my udk doesn't seem to crash, why is this? Is this related to any known bugs? I searched the forum a bit but wasn't able to find any explanation.
