RTS Starter Kit: Touches are ignored on iPad but not previewer after a few seconds.

    RTS Starter Kit: Touches are ignored on iPad but not previewer after a few seconds.

    Repro information
    UDK Builds: UDK-2012-07, UDK-2012-05
    Devices: iPad 2, iPad 3

    This is in regards to the UDK RTS Starter Kit (http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/Devel...tarterKit.html).
    After deploying and playing on a device, after about 3-5 touches (finger down, finger up), touches appear be ignored.
    This problem does not reproduce on the Mobile Previewer.

    Steps I took:
    1) Downloaded the Starter kit and 2 provided patches
    2) Un-zip starter kit, applied the most recent patch.
    3) Deployed the game using Unreal Frontend to iPad 2/3 devices.

    Result:
    Touch events are responsive for the first 3-5 touch events. Further touch events seem to be ignored, game is still playing with AI performing actions and all subsequent game events occurring (units retrieve resources, and fend off enemy attacks).

    On mobile previewer, touches continue to be delivered.


    I'm wondering if this is a problem in the UDK or in the RTS Starter Kit implementation?

    I'm having the exact same problem, and I am using iPhone 4 and 4th generation iPad, so it seems the problem must be with UDK or the code, but the code seems correct. I'm hoping the issue isn't with UDK; if it is, I am surprised it has not been addressed in so many years.

    Does anyone know if there is a solution to this problem?
