      woo it almost got all the way open this time lol
      it drew the app windows but were filled with white
      maybe one time it will actually open so i can get a PIE crash log

                yes of course.
                ive been doing everything i can to make my pc run as smoothly as possible, its almost back to faktory state.
                hope they get it fixed cos i just cant continue developing with udk running like that.
                as i mentioned before it seems sometime after the introduction of dx11 support udk has been getting slower and crashier.

                    im trying to sort out a similar problem ive been having for the last month.i use september 2011 udk and it ran perfectly till four weeks ago.ive never had need to check the log files,but after reading several of your threads i did.is it meant to be 5.5 gb in size.is this why udk is slow and sometimes takes 10 mins to start.

                      It almost sounds like memory is corrupting. Perform a MemTest86. Another possibility is your PSU is not powerful enough with your hardware and is causing all sorts of weird errors.

                        MemTest86, will that work on a 64 bit comp?

                        intel core 2 duo P7450
                        nvidia gtx 260m
                        4gb ram

                        incidently ive started doing tests running the 32 bit version of udk and it seems somewhat more stable than 64 bit, too early to tell how much more yet.

                          after a day or so of testing the 32 bit version
                          i can fairly confidently say that there is something wrong with the 64 bit version of udk.

                          so one question springs to mind.
                          when i create an installer for my game is there any way to restrict it to 32 bit version?
                          theres no point in releasing a game that will almost definately crash a lot.
                          does the installer automaticaly chose 32 or 64 depending on the os?
