How to draw somthing with Canvas ?

Hi,
I saw this image on UDN (this link)
I can get correct mouse position both 2D and 3D. but how to draw somthing like that green circle ?!

The green circle doesn't have to do anything with canvas, it's actually impossible to create using canvas considering it will cover all 3d objects in the same position for one.

For the circle, you have to use either a decal or a plane mesh depending on how you want it to interact with world.
