Then instead of changing batch files, you just change the target location in your games shortcut icon.
or, i have heard some could connect using udk itself (with the same files and versions ofcourse).

Not sure if being sarcastic or not...

Ya of course this is an option but if your friends don't need access to your project then packaging will save a lot of time and simplify the process for the people you want to connect to your server. At least thats what I found.

However megamoses, if you go this route at some point you need to be running the packaged game as well. You can't connect to a batch file from a packaged game.

I know I'm just doing this as a test just to see if the map is good enough for the amount of people we're aiming for.

It still makes the second person go to the main menu but the server recognizes that there are two people in it...

A quick question...I keep getting the 'error' of
            close TcpNetDriver_0 TcpipConnection_5
for who ever tries to join.

Both computers need the EXACT SAME files. What I usually do is install the UDK on the second computer, then copy the entire UDK directory from the server computer over it. After that all you need to do is copy files as they change, maps, compiled code, content.
