    Network Programming for an MMO

    Hello All,

    Thank you for taking the time to read this thread.

    Now I know this has been posted a lot but I would like to know and learn programming to code a server and client MMO but a lot of the threads and tutorials I have seen haven't been beginner friendly. Now I understand that network programming wasn't meant to be beginner friendly but I want something that is straight to the point and can lead me in the right direction to developing an MMO game.

    Video tutorials would be preferred but written ones with very detailed instructions would also be fine.

    you have 2 options

    1. find a huge amount of cash for a UE3 licence and to pay a team of highly skilled programmers for a long time.
    2. use a different engine

      Do you have any suggestions on a different engine I should use?

        An mmo specific one. But First, get some gamedev experience for example in udk. Because mmos are the hardest games to make and cost millions. Also, as this is the udk forum, we can't talk about other engines.
