So I've been working on a car model in Maya and exported it as an fbx after adding a set of bones and painting weights on the car for proper use. The issue is that when I import the fbx as a skeletal mesh into UDK, the lighting is very strange in some areas. Upon importing the fbx as a static mesh, the lighting on it is completely smooth and exactly what I'm looking for. Here's screenshots of the two:
