Such an easy solution, thanks a lot mate
ps: I went for your first suggestion and reset the position of the model in 3d max and aligned the pivot there to the center of the model.

You have to move the pivot point of your mesh to the right position
-either you do that in your 3d program
-or you do a right click - pivot - move here

move cursor at wrong location of imported mesh
Hey folks,
I've been importing a couple of models, but with each of them I have the problem that the cursor is at the wrong location.
Below I've included a screenshot of the problem, what am I doing wrong here?
