    [Help] Mesh faces visible (mesh no smooth)

    Hello;

    I'm completely new to just about everything in this field, and I'm having some difficulties creating rocks. The problem is that my mesh has a very angular look. It looks really good in Mudbox because of the "smooth shading", and I'm really wondering how I can keep that when I import the mesh into UDK.

    In Mudbox, basically looking the way I want it:

    I don't think that the Mudbox FBX exporter support smoothing groups
    You should pass throught Max or Maya, importing directly from Mudbox isn't a good idea for many reasons

    Edit: anyway, not sure. Wait for some other answer

      I'm not sure about the smoothing settings out of Mudbox, but UDK can try and smooth the mesh when it imports (and disregard whatever smoothing was already on the mesh). You can try and mess with that, but usually you'd need to setup your smoothing in something like 3ds Max or Maya and export to UDK from there.
