    I've been a long time lurker here, but I finally need to ask the community a question that I couldn't find an answer to.

    I've been modeling for some time, but have never actually did this on my own. I'll try to explain the issue I'm having as best as I can. Most of my modeling has just been for fun. Playing around, etc.

    • Looking at doing something higher poly, I'm curious what the average poly count is on a high end 3d model. Can anyone tell me how many polys are in a model nowadays? IE: Skyrim, battlefield 4, etc.
    • If I have a base 3d human model, does a person take an article of clothing and delete the model underneath? For example, if I have a male human with a T shirt or jacket, do you delete the model behind the T shirt or article of clothing?
    • If I wanted to make a long sleeve shirt, a sweatshirt, jacket, etc. for my human model in game to be able to change into, how would I do that on the modeling end? Do I need to model my character every time with a new article of clothing?
    • Are there any tutorials that cover what I'm interested in? I already know how to model, and have most of the clothing done already. Boots, belts, jackets, backpacks, etc. But I'm not sure what to do with them.

    I'd really appreciate any help here, because I'm new to the game part of modeling. Most of my modeling has been done for projects other then video games. So it's a new experience for me.
