    UDK Materials

I have a 3d modeler who's working along side on a project. He seems to be having issues, with plugging in the textures into a 3d image he's made. I personally have no idea how this part of the engine honestly works, nor do I know much about modeling (not that any of that info really matters lol). I'm wondering if someone who's an adept with migrating objects into UDK to take a look at the following images and see if he's got it right.

Not 100% sure why the image isn't showing. But if your able to help and wouldn't mind looking at it here's the link http://imageshack.us/f/213/udkisterrible.jpg/

The material setup is correct, in that it is a basic setup. I do notice that the smoothing groups on the mesh are out of whack. Fix those and you'll have the same sort of crispness in shadows, specularity and edges as the pic to the right.

do the mesh have a 2ns UV channel?

this channel is used to calculate the shadows. if the mesh doesn't have it, normaly this happens.
there is some restrictions to create this channel, read this (or ask the 3d modeler to read)

Thank you very much for the assistance guys. I'll pass this info up to my modeler and hopefully we'll be able to get this resolved

Adding a constant into the specular power slot and messing with the value will help get a more glossy look as well.
