Foliage Map Rock Asset: how was it textured?

    Hi,
In the UDK foliage map, the big rocks are really great.
Does someone know how to make such a great Diffuse texture?
Is it Zbrush polypainting? Something else? What's the workflow?
    Any info appreciated.
    Thanks.

You can shape the rock into any form then use any sculpting program to get fine detail in, I normally do a sculpt then take that normal to an image editor and edit it with color and detail then do the same for a spec map using the diffuse texture.

Thanks for the reply. In fact, I wanted to know how this particular asset had been textured.
Was it zprojection in Zbrush? Polypainting?
I ask this because I tried to reproduce this kind of diffuse map on some rocks I did but can't figure out how it was done.

It could be done in a multitude of ways, it really depends on the artist. There's no one specific method or program that needs to be used to achieve those results. Practice is what will get you there. You could use Zbrush, mudbox, etc and get the same results with practice and experience.
