    What types of texture maps?

Hi UDK Forum members, I am trying to create extremely high detailed environments and I would like to know if there are more maps that work in the UDK other than what I am currently aware of.

    Diffuse Map
    Specular Map
    Norma lMap
    HeightField Map
    Ambient Occlusion Map
    Emissive Map

Thanks, if there are any other ways to achieve great effects could you provide me with a little description on what they do and how they are made. Thanks.

You can create your own textures at your hearts desire and import them in to UDK.

The ambient occlusion map is part of the diffuse texture. You can really do anything with good diffuse, normal, and specular maps, but of course you want to know all the options. The only thing I can think of offhand to add to your list is a reflection texture (texturecube). They can do wonders for reflective materials. I think you'll want to come up with an idea of the type of material you are looking to make for a specific asset and then figure out what you'll need to make it happen.
