    3d max question

    hello

i just cant find an easy way to do this so i hope someone knows how.
sometimes i get a model from the internet and half of the polys are the wrong way round, inside-out.
i can go through them 1 by 1 and sort it that way but its very very time consuming.

how do you get them all the right way round easily, to face outwards?
or should i not bother with those models?

    thanks

try selecting per element, not much faster or maybe smooth groups

      1) Convert to an Editable Mesh
      2) Select all faces
      3) Under the "Surface Properties" group on the right side, click on "Unify"

Then you can covert it back to an Editable Poly if you prefer working with those etc...

And if the unify method doesn't work, export the model in OBJ format and then import it again into 3DSMax. That will most probably clean up most of the strange face behaviour.
