    Quick Question

    Hey guys,

I found this awesome program called Make Human.

I am not good at all with making things, so i was wandering, if anyone here uses it can you please tell me if you are able to get it into udk or some other program where i can add animations and clothes to the people that it makes.

I have maya and 3ds max and latest UDK.

    Thanks.

According to the Make Human docs it can export to blender and anything that can use obj or collada, so you should be able to use it with Max and Maya.

And to get it into the udk you would export from the modeling program like max or maya.

          yaaaaaaaaaas, a hot girl.

As for the rest, the usual way of course. There is a ton of useful info on the forums.

I'd use the UT3_female skeleton and rescale it to fit your model. This way you'll be able to apply the current UDK anims... then you can start to add your own later.

download the UT3_female model, import it into Ur graphics program, delete the existing mesh... use the bones on Ur hot girl mesh instead, export as FBX, modify your scripts to point to Ur new character.

I've tried using Makehuman when I was messing around with Blender. It does indeed allow you to import the model. From there you just have to add your clothing/armor, hair, etc. Still trying to learn how to use Blender properly, but I did get the model exported as an fbx. As I said still learning to use it so I had no smoothing groups and it ended up looking blocked out and rugged. I think the newest version of Blender has a plugin for makehuman in the prefrences.

Ok cool, thanks man. Well I downloaded it and tomorrow when I have some time I will give it a go. When you say I have to add clothing etc, can I do that via makehuman or do I have to do it in 3ds max?

You would have to do it in Max. When you export from MakeHuman, it's a bare model, literally.

Not sure as I've never used them. However this is pretty good if you plan to use blender. I actually started watching the training videos last week and it's helping somewhat.
