jamiet repliedA basic triangle/polygon has 3 vertices and 3 sides.
A quad has four sides.
Vertex count depends also on two factors, UV islands and smoothing groups.
One vertex cannot store two different vertex normal values, thus that vertex will be duplicated.
Split UV islands have the same effect, with vertex duplication occurring along the shell edge of a UV island.
Take a sphere and compare the vertex count between it being completely faceted or smooth shaded.

Sneaky_Ferret repliedYour triangle count is the same as your face count if all of your faces are divided up with edges untill they have 3 sides.

In blender it measures the mesh by vertics and faces and I dont know what the triangle count would be?Tags: None
