    Static Mesh Lighting Issue

    This is a recurring issue that one of my artists are having with tileable static meshes. I've narrowed it down to the mesh. It happens regardless of how we import it, the lighting environment its in or the presence of lightmass. I have had another artist import his work into the same level without problems, leading me to believe that the artist is missing a step somewhere in the creation or exporting of his meshes.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    The first image is smoothing groups. The second is a lightmass issue you get when smoothing groups are messed up. And that default SSAO ain't helping much either.

      I think the problem is that you need to create a second UV channel to bake light map.

      Example with only 1 UV channel:

      Example with a second UV channel (just did it with generate unique UVs):

        You are right. We did some research and found that he wasn't doing this. I will confirm it tonight and post a follow-up.
