    UVW a Curved Surface

    Hello everyone,

    I've been wondering about this since I've started making my own assets a year ago; how do I UVW map a curved surface?

    I have this arch:



    I want to take the highlighted area and format it into a long rectangle so that I can apply my beam texture to it (when it's on the model the UVWs will stretch the texture around the face). Only, I have no idea where to start. I can unwrap models using a UVW Modifier in Max just fine, I simply don't know how to stretch the UVs into a rectangle.

    Is there an easier way than positioning each vertex on the UVW?
