    Creating sockets for characters in our game

    My team is making a 3ds person adventure using UDK with a melee weapon that appears only when the character does the attack animation:

    I need to know about sockets:

    1. Are these created in a 3d app or in UDK?

    2. Can these be modified in Kismet or UnrealScript

    They are done in the animset tree...

        Well i would have to assume they are making their own rig and then you have to add the socket manually right?
