I have a level with some BSP surfaces in it. The level's only purpose is to serve as background to a menu. In other levels, used for gameplay, I have some directional lights. I want to make the BSPs in my menu level not be affected by the gamplay level's lights. I'm trying to change the light that affects them by playing with the surface properties (click on the surface and press F5) and the light properties (click on the light and press F4). But I'm running into problems:
1. If I turn off the BSP's BSP channel lighting, it just comes back on later, after clicking on other stuff.
2. If I turn on the BSP's Unnamed 1 channel, and set a light to Unnamed 1, but turn off the light's BSP channel, then the BSP stays black and does not accept the light on Unnamed 1.
3. If I leave the BSP's lighting channels alone, and let all of my directional lights light up the BSP channel, then all BSPs everywhere get affected.
Does anyone know of a way to use directional lights to light some BSPs but not others?
