    level streaming -- can you edit already streamed levels

    i want to optimize my level with level streaming, but i want to make the level playable before the levels are all done.

    so i have 2 chunks that make one level, and i want to stream them as they are, and they're bare only featuring corridors and tunnels, no meshes no textures no details. so if i streamed them seamlessly, and applied some kismet stuff like bot spawns and so on, and then i open the separate level chunk in its respected file and add detail to the level, can i save over it and have it apply to the complete (2 chunks) level? or do i have to complete the 2 separate chunks in their separate files before i can stream them?

    any advice and an answer to my question would be greatly appreciated

    Hmmm, no replies.

    I haven't seen many questions about level streaming.

    Streaming is the connection of maps, so logically (talking computersXD), there should be nps editing each map individually - providing you don't interfere with the connection between the two maps. Vaguely I remember trying steaming... connecting them at the right spot was an issue. Also it messed with one of my meshes flipping the textures - doesn't sound right... or was I using BSP... can't recall. I haven't needed level Streaming so I didn't bother searching out the finer points, sorry. If you get results it would be helpful to others if you post again here - providing you're in a good mood and all works for you, I say hopefully!!

      Havent tryed it but i think you can edit them.I just don know how bots and paths will do with the two streamed levels.Maybe to be on the safe side, the place where the levels stream you can put a path blocking volume just in case bots want to do something stupid(like thinking for them selfes )Or if you plan on decorating with lots of meshes just make a teleport point between the levels so that you can jump between them or move the second level in the same map faaaaaaaaar from the first one,make it invisible to save on fps(a cooling volume will do)and just teleport the player(with a fade in/out camera)in the same level between the two level/mesh chunks.
