    Reskin original npcs included with UDK?

    I was wondering if I would be able to get a skeletal mesh similar in size to the original NPCs that come with UDK and just apply that new mesh to the already existing skeleton and make an easy and basic NPC that way instead of making all the animations by hand (i.e. walking, idle, etc)

    is this possible or would I need to rough it and do it myself/borrow from other games?

    ut3 male with biped constraints removed.


    you can skin the ut3 skel into any mesh that's roughly the same size and shape and then use the ut3 anims.I do it all the time.

      thank you, gaz! this is pretty good news because up until this point, my game was only going to have kismet npcs. but thanks to your info, i can now make it completely different and better than my original design

        is there any way to do this for the most recent udk build? they discontinued ActorX and i cant seem to find a downloadable skeleton for the FBX pipeline version.

          you need the skel in fbx,no problem.give me 5 mins.

            thank you, gazzy-poo. i truly appreciate your help. now i just have to spend the next few days learning how to use 3ds max and all that other good stuff to get this to work :P
