    Creating buildings

I have just finished my first year of games design and I thought I would create a castle in UDK. My question is should I use bsp brushes to create the castle or should I use 3ds max. I have made assets in max before but haven't got a clue how to create a big building like a castle in it. I also want to know how professional game companys create buildings that can be entered as there is no point in using bsp brushes if I should be using other software.

Lean towards using static meshes and less BSP (see below). Build your SM's as modular units while you're in the design phase, and merge them later for FPS gain. Learn by studying how Epic work from their included demos: EpicCitadel / LsMobile_Castle...

"Ever since static meshes could be placed in a level, brush geometry tends to be less used and is generally discouraged - UnrealEd - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
.... Because Static Meshes are loaded into memory only once, even if used multiple times throughout a level, they are a more efficient way of using computer resources. "
