    Texure size increases after import

    Hey guys,

my imported textures are getting much bigger in its size instead of getting smaller and I don't know why.
I have 3 textures, but to get rid of the seams on my mesh, I've painted on the them in blender and exported the changed texture. However, the texture is about 10mb every time.
Thats way to big and only the 3 original textures are about 9mb large. So why not just save the change and interpolate it in the material editor?
The size of the changed texture is about 2mb instead of 10! So 5 times smaller. However, if I import it now in UDK, they're about 21 mb large. Why?
    Import settings are standard.

    Thanks for any advice

It's compressed differently, 4k textures are very big in games

hmm okay, thats annoying. Tried to use 512x512 but the texture looks horrible on the mesh, even with U/V-Tiling :/
