Make A Light To Cast Only Shadows

Is it possible to make a light to cast only shadows, not casting light ?
I mean just making shadows without illuminating the actual scene.

I guess making a light to cast indirect only would give same result.
Is it possible to make a light to cast indirect illumination only ?

Edit: On second thought it wouldnt give same result, my mistake.
But now I am curious if this one is possible too ?

No, shadows are the result of illumination, you can't have shadows without it.

I think you could have a light that only affects certain objects, and have those objects only cast shadows. Not sure what you're trying to accomplish, but maybe that could help.

I think it may be possible, but you'd have to be clever with lighting channels. Can a light with no brightness not cast shadows?

            Thank you all for answers.

@ChampagneRobot actually I am not trying accomplish anything, I still try to learn UDK and experiment something different.
So I would accept every solution that gives result or even similar to result.
How could I make a light to affect certain objects ?
And I couldnt find anything related to casting only shadows, there is a cast shadows option but it is not cast "only" shadows.

@ambershee Unfortunately a light with no brightness also does not cast shadows.
Could you explain more about lighting channels ?

            Regards...

Ehm, isn't shadow the non-presence of Light? You could try to somehow fake the lightmaps.
