Hi folks,
question regarding materials. How many multi/sub-object materials can you have on a single model?
Thanks

I don't know if there is an exact number but on one of my models I had 12 materials, just remember more materials equals more draw calls.
hope that helps

for regular meshes you should use 1-2 materials.
think that 1 material is 1 draw call.

it means if your mesh have 1 material, it will be rendered at 1 time (draw call).
but if it have 2 materials, it needs to be rendered 2 times.
often, regular static mesh have 1 material.
characters models - 2, 3, 4 and more (body, skin, hair, eyes and so on)
totally, normal videocard can work with 1000 draw calls in scene, and more.
just keep in mind that most things can be done by easy ways.
