    Static Mesh Sockets

    Hi,

    Been searching for this so if its already covered please feel free to vaporize me.

    I'm in need of creating something like the socket system but for a modular static mesh.

    As an example on a building I want a point above the door that I can attach a sign too. This sign will be different from place to place so I want a quick attach method. I could be way off thinking about it as a socket system. I didnt know if creating a bone for the the mesh was the correct/best thing?

    Annoyingly, static meshes do not have sockets.

    You can create a vector offset variable however and use that to manually handle attachment, but this will not help you in the editor.

        You can place a sign there to begin with and the keep replacing that mesh with another. It's the same concept accept you use a model as placement.
