    Terrain Extending

I am using 09-2010 UDK (September) and started off a map a tad smaller than I would have liked.

After building it up a bit I realized I need to extend (increase the size of) the terrain.

Is there a way to extend it without ruining the already deformed terrain I have? Sort of like enlarging the canvas in Photoshop?

Basically I just want to add a bunch of flat new terrain that is extended from the perimiter of my current terrain:

one of the tools on the terrain editing window allows to do just that, add flat terrain just by the existing ending. can't remember the name but it's there, just try looking and trying the different tools and you'll find it

Hmm - I am not seeing anything. I am using 09-2010 UDK (September 2010).

I am able to change the Num Patches X and Num Patches Y via Terrain Properties but it will only do it on two of the four sides of the terrain. Any way to make it apply to both sides?

again, it's on the terrain tools menu, the one with all the little icons
the tool is called 'add/remove sectors'. to find out the right icon you need to click look at it here:
