    AO baking in Max 2012

Hello all, I recently got 3d studio max 2012 (upgraded from 2009) and it seems that there has to be some changes to my creation pipeline.
Does someone know an alternative way to bake AO maps in 3ds 2012? the method i used in 2009 (AO material then render to texture) only yeilds a white mesh with no shadows.

    Thanks in advance.

I believe you put a pure white material on your meshes, throw in a skylight and then turn on light tracer and render using scanline. That's just one of several methods.

Or use Render to Texture, with Mental Ray there's an AO option
