    Particle Emittion from a Ring

    So I'm learning particles and have learned a lot, but what I'm still missing is how to create a particle emitter from a ring. Like I was making flowing water from the edge of of a fountain and really wanted a ring formation but could not really find a way to pull it off. Any help would be appreciated.

    Ring for what? If you're talking about for the wave like motion from a drop of water onto a still body of water, then you could do that with one flat particle with something like 'size scale by time'.

    If you're talking about the actual water flowing from the fountain, you may want to make it with a mesh and a panning material. Could use vertex painting? to make the water appear to dance at random - read about here -
    could then add in a subtle particle effect to boot and get a real nice effect.

        The Cylinder module should help here:

        Enable Surface Only and lower the Start Height. I think that will do what you are wanting.
