    Need some help Shadows/light

i have a problem, i am new to UDK still getting used to it.
    The problem are:
1)when i use mesh, it casts "super" dark shadows
2)wall with window casts same shadow as wall without window.(can UCX object block light?)
3)shadows dont really look like mesh. (they are bent/twisted. some times a shadow from square looks more like a circle)

    i use single DominantDirectionalLight.
i spent whole day searching for something similar. the only good thing was that i learned about lightmap's in UDK (thank you for that forum)

P.S. sorry for mistakes, english isn't my main language

Have you tried: Adjusting (increase) the lightmap resolution of the floor or Building production quality lighting?

Also, sometimes lighting builds just mess up. I've had levels that one from build to the next lighting is messed up.

      thank you.
lightmap resolution fixed shadows shape. is there any advice of how high resolutions i should use?

last problem is that shadows are still too dark.

Shadows are too dark because you haven't set your ambient environment colour in the world properties.

Thank you, that did the trick, but that made me to wonder. Can i somehow change that shadow brightness for each light individually?
