ive been seeing a lot of references to a 'speedtree' here on the forums and i just wanna ask, what is it?

It is trees made by a third party producer that comes with a lot of features, like in-built wind and lot of LODs including a billboard LOD. -
so its basically a pre built package of stuff 2 animate it and whatnot?Comment

SpeedTree is the tree/bush creator that comes with the UDK. Like I answered in a post recently for another member, you can find SpeedTree by going to "Start Menu" -> "Programs" -> "Unreal Development Kit" and then under your UDK folder, you need to go too the "Tools" sub-folder. There you will find the SpeedTree modeler and compiler. The modeler program is what you want at first to start making your own trees.Comment
