    Can the BumpOffset node in the material editor be considered as the technique that is used for parallax mapping ?
    If not,then which node in the material editor must be used for parallax mapping ?

      And I see that the BumpOffset node gives similar results to Normal-mapping.

      Now which one of these takes more processing power: BumpOffset or Normal-mapping ?

          Bump Offset and normal mapping are really not similar. Normal mapping directly affects how a surface accepts lighting. Bump Offset is just a UV trick that can be used to augment the normal mapping effect, but by itself will not give results anything like normal mapping because the lighting on the surface will not be affected.
