You don't have to trademark "Army" and I've never seen "Taliban" or "Marines" in a copyright notice. I'm relatively certain S.W.A.T. and SAS are ok to use. The only problem you'll run into is if your game makes them out as a bunch of *******. Represent them right and you won't hear a word if they are protected terms, which I doubt.
You can always try to find it in the trademark registry, it's public.
