exporting from UDK to 3ds Max

I have made an item within UDK using BSP Brushes, and would like to turn it into a more detailed static mesh using 3DS Max. I select the object in UDK and export it as a .OBJ, and it exports it successfully. However, when i import it into 3Ds, NOTHING shows up. i have tried the other available compatible import/export options to no avail.

Does anyone have any advice as to what is wrong or what i need to do?

I have the same problem.. Import to Maya, Max and Lightwave all find the files empty, and they appear to be by their file sizes.. a cube is 87kb while an entire CTF match's road and underground highway system (which i stupidly built out of one BSP to the point that geometry mode wont let me move anything or edit it further) is 84kb.
My boss now wants me to modify the floor of this map to put hills on the roads and also cut the level up for streaming single player levels so you can imagine the problem im facing lol.
How to export bsp brushes anyone..? please? xD

Convert the brush first to static mesh and export the static mesh. I think this is the only way.
