    Lighting always needs to be rebuilt

    Ive been having a problem with my maps in the UDK that i haven't had in UT3.

    my maps ALWAYs have "Lighting needs to be rebuilt" even right after i do a full Medium build. (Do have have to do it on production?)

    i have it so its baking BSP and static meshes, Using Lightmass, Generate Building LOD textures. i just cant figure out how to get rid of it.

    my apologies if this question has already been asked.

    When ever you add a light, modify a light, move a static mesh, modify lightmap settings or light channel settings, or place a static mesh you have to rebuild and I recommend putting your lighting on preview instead of medium or production.

      It still says i need to rebuild lighting, even if i save and test the level instantly after baking. Even if i haven't touched anything.

        That can happen if you have lights that turn on/off in the level. Like a lightswitch. I believe the fix was being sure they are all ON for light baking. Then you can toggle them back off with a level loaded event in kismet.
