    Material Node Question

    Hey everyone,

I am currently working on a material where I want to check the orientation of the object and give a specific texture to it.

So after spending a lot of time working on it I got it to work for object that are not rotated along the x and y axis.

To show you guys what I mean. I have this simple setup:

And if you look at it ingame it will look like this:

The problem is, the objects that are not rotated are perfect but the object that are rotated have the colors screwed up.

It doesn't make any sence to me, since 2 sides become green.

Is there anyone who know why this is happening and maybe knows how I can solve it? Or maybe a different material setup to get the same result?

What is your vector transform set to?

Try with those transform settings. Worked for me.

I tried it, but I have RoelBartstra's problem. Works fine in Z rotation, but no in Y or X rotation.

Hmmm... You're right. I didn't play with it enough the first time.

What are you trying to do here, exactly? Should the top plate of the column always be blue, or just the top of whatever is on top at the moment be blue?

I think he wants something like this:

Thats right, how did you do that?

I did it myself by changing the object orientation node with a vector 3 "0,0,1"
