    Materials have a line where you can specify a physicalmaterial. This physicalmaterial in turn can be given a surface type, ex metal, wood, glass etc. This surface type is what the engine reads for hit effects and footstep sounds and so on.

    spawning FX based on Material

    Hello,
    I was wondering if you can spawn different effects based on what type of material it is spawning from. For example; I want to create a impact crater effect. I want it to look slightly different if it hits dirt then it would if it hit concrete or water.
    I am sure where to start looking for this info so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated.
