How to get Speedtree randomness working?

Hi all, I hope I'm doing nothing wrong here. The Title asks everything...

I already learned to use speedtree within udk a bit and got everything working. To find an anwser for my problem, I seeked in this forum for this question and found this:

But sadly, without any reply. Why? Am I so dump that I missed the answer in any tutorial?

UDK doesn't randomly alter speedtrees as far as I know.

have you tried Deco Layers? You need a terrain to access them

hey thx. Yo I made some tests with deco layers but my mind told me that it only accepted static meshes. I will try this next time, thanks!
