Will this work? Terragen 2 to UDK

I am planning on licensing Terragen 2 for a UDK Project. But First i need to know if the following is possible with UDK and Terragen 2

I plan on Exporting the Entire Mesh from terragen 2 to UDK with the following method.

Export from Terragen to 3ds max.
    Then Export as .ASE

    In theroy it should work.

    Right?

      Why do you say that?

Just Curious as I found a Plugin for 3ds max that accepts the Teragen files and then I can Export it to UDK.

If you use that metod, you will have better performance!

I'm talking about import the heightmap from terragen

Ahhh, ok now that makes sense. Well I am going to test my theory out anyways and try the other method (with the height maps)

But just curious: It has been a while since I Imported a Height map does any one know any tutorials or Documentation?

Just want to get things working first time around.

Use the free utility software here to convert heightmaps into G16 format, after that you can import it into your level.

Importing heightmaps into UDK is pretty straight forward, might take some tweaking to get the right result with tesselation and other stuff.

Some useful reading before you get started.

With the program Xendance linked to and Terragen you should be all set to get a working terrain in UDK.
