    Fixing hot spots on Textures

    I am working on a brick/cobble stone floor, I can make the texture tile seamlessly however I always have hot spots and you can tell that the texture is repeating when running on top of it. How can I add in a separate smaller texture with an alpha channel that would over lay the stone textures in places to break up some of the repeated areas?

    No alpha required. You can add or multiply two textures together. You can also use a linear interpolation (lerp) for tighter control. Use a 0-1 constant to define the alpha and therefore the blending.
